Golden Retriever Training
Welcome to Golden Retriever Training Info, I’ve set this website up to help people with their Golden Retriever Training.
Golden Retrievers are one of the most magnificent and intelligent dogs out there. Golden Retrievers always have a high level of energy and are very active. As a result of a combination of these factors, Golden Retriever Training is simpler than training other breeds of canine. As they are very smart canines, it is important to train them well otherwise they may pick up on some bad habits which may cause a problem in the future.
During Golden Retriever Training, it is important to know what to do. Before providing Golden Retriever training, it is necessary to make a training schedule. Golden Retrievers respond better when the training sessions are planned out and repetitive.
If unplanned training is provided, then your canine may not get the message or trick that is being explained. Some key training points that any Golden Retriever owner should know are:
Take notes of your training and create a routine. This will make the training process more orderly. Retrievers respond so much better to a training system that has well laid down structures and foundations. Pretty soon, you’ll have a champion caliber dog.
Consistency Is Key:
During the Golden Retriever training session, it is vital that there is consistency in the training sessions. Training must be provided regularly so that they are able to learn and remember the trick through positive reinforcement. Award them treats for their good behavior and praise them verbally so that they continue doing the trick thinking they will get a treat if performed well.
Puppy Mingling Is Vital:
Like human beings, Golden Retriever puppies are social animals. During Golden Retriever Training it is necessary to allow the Golden Retriever puppy to play with other puppies, even if they are not Golden Retriever’s. This will expose them to other breeds of dogs which means they won’t develop bad habits such as barking and whining when they see another canine of a different breed.
A great place to expose the pup to other breeds of dogs is parks. Just take the chain off and let them frolic around.

House Training 101:
One of the most crucial elements of any Golden Retriever Training is to house train them so that they develop good toilet habits. The trick is to know how to get them to do their “business” outside of the house. A simple method is to give them something to drink as soon as they have eaten something. After approximately 30 minutes have passed from the point the Golden Retriever ate and drank, take the Golden Retriever outside for a walk.
30 minutes are plenty for a Golden Retriever to get the idea that they have to “go”. Let them do their business and then take them back home. Keep repeating this process for a while and eventually, the Golden Retriever will get the idea that they have to do this outside of the house. Remember, Golden Retriever’s are very smart animals are able to get the training really fast.
Patience, Patience, Patience:
It can not be stressed enough that while conducting Golden Retriever Training, it is absolutely essential to be patient. While Golden Retriever’s may be of the smarter dogs, they can never match the intellectual and learning capabilities that human beings posses. Keep training them and wait for them to learn the tricks and what you taught them. Pretty soon, the Golden Retriever will learn and develop all the skills that have been taught to them.
Golden Retrievers are partners for life and have proven themselves to be the best canine. With consistency and patience, there will be a champion Golden Retriever right next to you in your home.
